We are located in the beautiful hills of Chatauqua County, near the small town of Forestville, NY. The farm sits on 50 acres of land that includes flat areas, hills, a creek, logging trails and wooded areas. This is an ideal setting for the training of herding dogs from beginner to advanced. We are able to put together all sorts of training situations for you and your dog to work on.
We believe that a working team should be balanced. We work on the physical aspect of the team - can you do it, the emotional aspect of the team - are you ready to do it and the mental aspect of the team - having the confidence to do it. When all of these aspects are balanced, the team is ready to move on.
We strive to teach in a slow and thoughtful way. We have found that this method allows for the student to work their dog in a way that they understand what is going on. In this way, they can achieve the results that bring about a harmonious working team.
We encourage people to train a dog in a natural as opposed to mechanical way. Always enhancing the dog's natural abilities to do the job. We do not train strictly for competition. It is our goal to first give the dogs and handlers a great foundation and then, from there you can specialize in competition or having a great farm hand.
